Flex pattern refers to where the skis flex when force is applied to the skis, this is independent from the stiffness. We offer 3 options - other options available on request.
Round Flex - All around performance. The ski flexes in a smooth arc from tip to tail. Round flex is the traditional ski feel, providing excellent edge hold along the entire ski, and a very smooth and predictable turn. The more you press the ski the more it bends giving you excellent control throughout the turn. Generally recommended for all around riding.
Stiff Tail - Straight lines, telemark freeride. The ski flexes more in the tip, with a relatively stiff tail. The skis are harder to turn, but more stable at high speeds, and maintain tip float in powder. The tails will not release or wash out easily, so you keep control even with your weight far back. This is particularly favorable when straight-lining couliors, or riding very fast on the tails of the skis. Often a good choice for Freeride Telemark where your weight is back to prevent the Tele-Rag-Doll.
Soft Ends - Jibbing, powder cruising. The ski flexes primarily in the tip and tail of the skis, with a stiff section under foot. The feeling is very floaty tips and tails, but with a bit more stability under foot. This is recommend for jibbing, where you can butter the tips and tails, yet have a stable platform to land. It is also a great ski for skiing powder at low to medium speeds, giving a responsive ski that is easy to turn, yet reasonably stable.
